Deqing Creek is an important river in the north of Tainan City, the upstream tributaries cut out a hilly terrain on the Tainan platform, and flew through the Western Zuwei. One could still see the creek during the Japanese rule. After World War II, urban renewal and the integration of the drainage system transformed Deqing Creek to be the north main line of the Tainan sewer system. Deqing Creek upstream used to have several tributaries that flew through the Magistrate's Residence and Dongfeng Market, but they are not visible now because of urban planning and development. However, it has its importance on the landscape and architectural planning of Shi Chu-Wei. (Source of Information: The Map of Tainan, 1915.)
