    Exoploring Taijiang The story you should know about oceanic Taiwan

     

       The Annan District of Tainan formerly known as Taijiang, occupies 107.2 square kilometers, with a population of nearly 200,000. With Taijiang National Park in the west and adjacent to Nanke in the east, and eight streams and rivers flow through these areas, such as Zengwen Creek, Lu'ermen Creek, Yanshui River and Jianan Irrigation Canal. The wetlands and fishponds provide an abundant water environment resource. It was once the site of Taiwan's founding history and the new homeland of immigrants. It is the most beautiful inner sea in Taiwan; it witnesses the changing of Taiwan’s historical, geographical, ecological changes, and also the migration and settlement process. When exploring Taijiang area, we should observe the environmental changes along Taijiang River and the everyday life of villagers near big temples in order to see the stories of oceanic Taiwan and its future.
