Route Introduction

Danel Buyers-Sellers Credit Association

Founded in 1923 by Mr. Yang Yunxiang, the head of Danei Village, the Credit Association provided farmers with loans and agricultural counseling. In 1936, the Credit Association (building) was built. During the Japanese Rule, in order to thank Mr. Yang Yunxiang for his contribution to the local community, local people erected a stone birthday statue on the west side of the gate of the Credit Association to pay tribute to him. In February 1954, “Danei Buyers-Sellers Credit Association” was renamed “Tainan County Danei Township Farmers' Association,” and the building is being used by the supply and marketing department (direct sales center of agricultural specialty produce) of the current Danei District Agricultural Association. Mr. Yang Yunxiang's contribution to Danei includes transportation and medical care, and he strived to build the "Erxi Suspension Bridge" to solve the local traffic problems caused by the topography of the Zengwen River; His daughter, Doctor Yang, Yui-Nu and his adopted daughter, Ms. Yang, San- lian opened the “Hanging-Kettle Hospital” in Danei and served the residents of Danei all their lives.
