Mango Trees
Mango is a lacquered tree komango genus plant, native to India, and Malaysia. Martinus Sonck, the first Taiwanese governor, under the Dutch rule, introduced the tree into Taiwan in 1625. The trees are evergreen and can reach heights of up to 30 meters. Mango bark is grayish brown, with needle- shaped mutual leaves, about 20 centimeters long. Pale yellow paniculate flowers bloom in springtime, and the fruit season begins from May to August. Taiwan mango varieties are numerous; Yuwen, Kate, Aiwen, and Jinhuang are well-loved mango varieties.
