Route Introduction

│The Second High School of Tainan State│

1922, Japanese people established “the Second High School of Tainan State’ at Zuyuanding. Initially, they borrowed Zuyuan Shin-Chiang Elementary School’s classroom to conduct the classes. After Shin-Chiang elementary school was moved into a new campus at Huayuanding (today’s Gong Yuan Elementary School), the old classrooms were given to The Second High School of Tainan. In 1926, the earliest reconstructed school buildings were completed, but the main hall and lecture hall of The Second High School of Tainan were completed in 1928 and 1931, respectively. These have all been made into ancient heritages. This school was a five-year high school, mainly for the education of Taiwanese people.

After WWII, the Second High School of Tainan was renamed “The First Senior High School of Tainan, Taiwan Province.” Or simply, just Tainan First Senior High School. It has been the No. 1 choice for high school boys in post-War Tainan area.
