Nan-Chang Bao'An Palace

During the Qing Dynasty's reign, the Nan-Chang Bao'An Palace was near the sea; it was favorable for shipping and an essential port for the military. During the reign of Emperor Kang-Xi, this location builds as a large-scale shipyard, and the autocratic warship was named Nan-Chang. According to the records of Anping County miscellany claims, "there are two factories in the north and south, called military factories in the north. They are set up by the government to build sentinel ships. There are civilian factories outside the factories. It is called Chang-Zai, which was at the Lau-Gu-Shi (coral stone) area, there are sail factories nearby, Nan-Chang is shipbuilding and a carpenter category." Although there are nine Bixi stony statues, one of them fell into a waterway and went missing during the moving process. The government crafted another one and placed it in the Chiang, Kai-Shek shrine.

The stone Bi-Xi tablet in Bao'An palace worshipped as the female deity by the people. It is from the Emperor of Qing Dynasty to commemorate the suppressing Lin Shuang-Wen rebellion. According to The Han-Wen Narration in the Taiwan Nichi-nichi Simpo records: "Tainan's life-time temple is now at Zhu-Zai street, the farming venue is its former site. Fu An-Kang, the governor of the Qing Dynasty, was successful in suppressing Lin Shuang-Wen's rebellion. Therefore, Emperor Qianlong carved the event as a tablet inscription and sent nine stone Bi-Xi tablets to enshrine to the life-time temple. However, one of the stone tablets was somehow lost in the water  at the port when disembarking at Nan-Chang. At that time, hundreds of people went to Nan-Chang to greet the deity of Bei-Gang, the main god of Bao'An palace his highness Chi pilgrimaged and allowed the stony BiXi tablet to be enshrined in its palace. Henceforth, village women worship rigorously. We therefore concluded that this was the missing BiXi that was found and fished onshore. The inscription on the BiXi has been weathered and worn out. It is folklore that the holy water on Bi-Xi's back can cure every disease.
