Exploring Old Yuejin Harbor Area

Route Introduction

 

 

│The Cai Hequan House (San Sheng Study) │

 

   Cai Hequan, one of the founders of the Yujin Poetry Society during Japanese ruling era, the Nikji period, had published many poetry works since the 1920s. Cai Hequan House was built in about 1920, the main body of the building is of traditional architectural style, special places to pay attention to are the design of the 2-storey main hall and the shape of the balcony. Part of the building blends in the characteristics of the Japanese period, with the façade of white glazed bricks, Japanese-style toilets and bed sets, etc.

   Yuejin Poetry Society, established in 1922, Chinese Language and Poetry Society with 15 members, all from Yanshui Harbor area.  They built friendship with poetry and expressed feelings with poetry. The poem - Yuejin eight sceneries, a theme often thought about and behind Today's Yuejin Harbor Lantern Festival was published on Poetry No. 304 on October 11, 1943,  Cai Hequan House, which was granted a grant for “Ministry of Culture's Private Old Building Preservation and Regeneration Program” in 2019, will become one of the exhibition spaces of the "Moon Art Museum" to render the poetic mood of the Yuejin Poetry Society.
