Route Introduction

Yuejin Harbor

Yuejin Harbor is a more refined name for Yanshui Harbor. Presently only the  river channel remains for people’s memory. In Qing Dynasty, Yanshui relied on this river harbor, the harbor had become a market for the trading of goods, and the nearby area has formed a lively scene around. For example, the earliest street of Yanshui, the "Southern Bridge Old Street", one of Taiwan's earliest Mazu Temple, "the Hu-Pi Temple” During the Japanese period, Zhongzheng Road was built with many two-storey buildings in response to the government's correction of city streets.

As time goes by, the grace of old streets are sealed and buried in memories.  These old houses that witnesses the come and go of time still stand tall on the streets and in the alleys of Yanshui.  Traces of life have replaced the commercial networks in the past. For more than one hundred years, Yuejin Harbor has been laden with stories of all times in YanShui.  From the year 2012, lantern festival and related activities that is held annually in YanShui  <> connects seasons, cultures and natural environment  and construct an artistic atmosphere that blend in with the landscapes.
