Since the Southern Science Park was developed in 1995, the archaeology team found more than 80 archaeological sites in the surrounding area; to preserve and display the unearthed cultural relics, it established the Nan-Ke Archaeological Museum. It is the first professional Archaeological Museum in the science park. The architectural design is full of archaeological images. According to the chronological order, the permanent exhibition hall lists the six significant archaeological and cultural periods in the Nan-Ke area: Da-Ben-Keng, Niu-Chou-Zi, Da-Hu, Niao-Song, Siraya, and the Han cultural relics of Ming and Qing Dynasties, which span more than 4500 years and can be traced back to the Neolithic age. In the museum, visitors not only visit archaeological relics according to the chronological sequence but also realize the living landscape of the aboriginal ancestors in southern of Taiwan through seven perspectives: fishing, farming, hunting, livestock, home, wares, and ornaments. The exhibition hall also focuses on presenting archaeology, including modern science and technology analysis, site excavation methods, cultural relics preservation and maintenance, archaeological research results, and others.
