Hatta Yoichi Memorial Park

Why is Hatta Yoichi, the builder of the Great Jianan Irrigation Ditch, much loved? We will find the answer at Hatta Yoichi Memorial Park. There are four Japanese-styled houses in the park, each is a different structural style, and they are in turns opened to the public. Among them, the Hatta House was the residence of Hatta Yoichi, the furnishing and decoration remains as they were when Yoichi resided there. There is an area in the garden in the shape of Taiwan. It is said that Hatta Yoichi sat here pondering on how the great irrigation ditch should be built. You must not miss this place if you are fond of Japanese architecture and the story of Hatta Yoichi.
