Route Introduction

Grand Goddess Temple

The Grand Goddess Temple used to be the residence of Emperor Ningjing. He and his five concubines committed suicide to avoid being disgraced when Shi, Lang invaded Taiwan in 1683. The residence was then renovated into the Grand Goddess Temple worshipping Matsu. The Matsu statue in the main hall is 320 cm tall and golden in color. The Old Man under the Moon-the patron god for love and marriage is worshipped here too.
