Zeelandia and the Retrospective Anping

Route Introduction

Anping Castle

The Dutch built Zeelandia where Anping Castle is today in 1625. There had been structures designated an internal castle and an external castle and it took General Zheng, Chenggong 9 months to take them down. Zeelandia was later the dwelling place of Zheng, Chenggong, so it is called“The King's City”. It gradually lost its prosperity in the Qing Dynasty and was rebuilt into what we see today during the Japanese occupation era.
