Nan-Chang (The South Factor y) is situated at the mouth of Fu'An Creek. During Dao-Guang Era, a Wu family from Gu-Dong township, Jin-Jiang County of Quan-Zhou, China, then settled down around south of the little West Gate, ran a ship-building factory that repairs ships as well. Local people called it Nan-Chang. Along with a ship factory at Lau-Gu-Shi (coral stone) harbor run by Chen Family, these two factories are called "North and South Small Factories," contrary to the "Big Factories" run by the government military warships workshop. Years later, people no longer cared for the sizes; they went ahead and called the south factory.
