Route Introduction

Ye Shi-Tao Memorial Hall（Former Shanlin Office）

No. 8-3, Youai Street, Zhongxi District, Tainan City

Ye Shi-Tao Memorial Hall is located on Youai Street, adjacent to National Museum of Taiwan Literature and Cultural Assets Preservation Center. This place was originally the Tainan Shanlin Office during the Japanese occupation era, handling reginal affairs of forestry as far as Ganshan and Qishan areas in Kaohsiung County.

In 2002, it was designated as a historic site of Tainan city and was once used as the Tourism Information Center of Confucius Temple. On August 11, 2012, it was officially renamed as Ye Shi-Tao Literature Memorial Hall, with exhibition of the writer's life paths, works and related relics.

Lectures on literature and culture are also hosted here. It is the only memorial hall in Taiwan of literary master Ye Shi-Tao.
