No. 186-3 Yung-Fu Road, Sec. 2, Central-Western District, Tainan City

As recorded in Taiwan Government Chronicle, "Women in Taiwan do not weave; they are excellent in embroidery. Their delicate embroidery works are compatible to those made in Suzhou and Hanzhou.

The craftsmanship of Taiwanese embroidery came from Fujian Province, with complicated patterns and brilliant colors. The techniques and delicate quality is not second to those famous sites of embroidery in China. The embroidery works produced in the shop are mostly for religious or temple affairs, including covers for altar table, banners of Eight Immortals, attires for god statues, embroidered collars & cuffs, money pouches, tobacco pouches, etc.

Master Lin Yu-Quan of Guangcai Embroidery Workshop began his apprenticeship at the age of 16, following Master Yan Xun-Xiang of Chengfu Embroidery Workshop. Master Lin later opened his own workshop, which has been running for more than six decades.

Master Lin' a craftsmanship earned him the title of "The Embroidery Master of Tainan." Master Lin is collaborating with Tainan Municipal Administration of Cultural Heritage to offer embroidery training workshops to school children so to carrying on the embroidery tradition.
