Route Introduction

Banana Warehouse

Adjacent to the West Market is the Banana Warehouse, formerly known as the "Banana Warehouse of the Fruit Industry Association of Tainan State". This one-story brick building with a pitched roof is currently closed for renovation. During the Japanese occupation era, agricultural produce was cleansed, preserved, chilled, warmed and distributed from here. It was abandoned after the market was moved.
